September 25, 2010 Marijuana-laced cream hits shelves.
This news article is about a delicious snack made with the intention of helping medical patients who use marijuana. Marijuana-laced ice cream hit the shelves of Santa Cruz, Calif just this past week. Jonathan Kolodinski created this tasty cold treat because he wanted to have something that was both efficient and delicious at the same time. It costs about $15 per cone, and comes in three scrumptious flavor. Banannabis Foster, TRIPLE Chocolate Brownie, and Straw-Mari Cheescake and in it there is approximatly 2 to 4 doses of marijuana in each scoop.
This has a global impact because this Herb is loved world wide, as well as hated. The use of Marijuana for medical reasons is explanatory, but making it into a snack seems a little bit hypocritical being that flavored and coloured rolling papers have just recently been made illegal because young children are drawn to the taste and the look of them. Making Marijuana-laced ice cream is just another way to attract young kids to do things such as smoking cigarettes or doing Drugs.I don’t feel that this will cause a huge national incident because Marijuana is not a legal substance and is harder to bring from on country to the next. Though if it is brought to a regional level it would become much easier to distrubute. Weither it be agaisnt the law or not, beings that bc is so close to the border. This makes it easier for the product to slip through the cracks, or simply be aloud.Personally i think that using marijuana for midicinal reason is a good thing, though it shouldnt be taken advantage of. A wide majority of the human population are cronic smokers, and many others use it to help them through thier sickness. The ice cream idea was smart, and sounds delicious, i just think it could be promoting the usage of marijuana to a wider majority of people, and the way they can use it.

Current Events September 24, 2010 Eleven treated for drug overdoses after huge Symons Valley Ranch rave.
This news article is about a one-night electronic music festival, held at the Simons Valley Ranch just outside Calgary. At this festival at least eleven people were treated for drug overdoses, while two were taken to the hospital for further treatment. This rave attracted approximately 2,500 partiers and as the night went on the safety of the citizens became more of a concern. Calgary police shut the party down around after 11, though the festival wasn’t over. Police were called from all over the city; leaving little officers to do there assigned jobs.
I don’t think that this will have a huge global impact because things like this happen at raves and music festivals all the time. Drugs will always be brought to events such as this one. I feel that is could have an impact on the people who live in Calgary and the surrounding area. More of a regional affect because when our police cant be where they are suppose to be, in order to protect and serve it causes a bit of a problem. I foresee this festival gone bad, not causing a huge up rawer globally nationally regionally or locally. I think it will only affect the people that overdosed personally.
